Our Bed and Breakfast

Built in 1750, our charming Bed and Breakfast was originally two cottages. It was constructed out of cob – a simple mix of clay, sand, straw and small pebbles. Under its brick outer layer, much of the building is still cob. The fireplace in the snug is the original shared by both cottages.

Much has changed over the years: it retains many original features, with cottage-style bedrooms as well as more modern additions – such as underfloor heating, Cat5e internet cabling to all bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms and showers!

Sitting in a pretty south-facing plot and garden which guests are invited to use, it has an adjacent turnout paddock of about a sixth of an acre so it may be possible to bring your horse with you on holiday.

A hot and cold outdoor tap is available for those dogs who like to get dirty.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children under 14. The cottage is not wheelchair accessible - with an open plan wooden staircase to the bedrooms. The property is a smoking-free zone.

View free-roaming New Forest ponies from your bedroom.

A splendid continental breakfast is served in the kitchen of the cottage.

The paddock boasts a few badgers’ setts: you can while away a few hours trying to spot these elusive creatures

The drive way has space for several cars and can accommodate a horse trailer.

Situated on the open Forest, a perfect getaway for walking, cycling and appreciating the great outdoors.

Guests are able to use the snug/hallway and enjoy its wood-burning stove.

Sit in the pretty south-facing garden and unwind with a drink.

A quiet place to relax and unwind
